Selection of metal stamping die gap
In metal stamping parts processing plants, the processing of metal stamping parts is inseparable from stamping dies, and the rationality of the die gap value is directly related to the quality of stamping parts and the service life of stamping dies. Therefore, the design and selection of die gap value is a very important issue for stamping parts manufacturers.
For parts with high requirements for cross-sectional quality and dimensional accuracy, a smaller gap value is usually selected, but at this time, the stamping pressure required for stamping processing is large, which will shorten the life of the die; for parts with general precision and cross-sectional quality, and blanks that require further plastic deformation, a conventional gap value is selected; for parts with low requirements for precision and cross-sectional quality, a larger die gap value is selected, which can extend the service life of the die.
The materials of metal stamping parts and stamping dies are different, and the selected gap values are different. Therefore, in actual production, the gap value must be increased or decreased as appropriate according to factors such as the shape and size of the stamping parts, the mold material and processing method, as well as the stamping method and stamping speed.
